Max Verstappen won the Formula 1 sprint race at Marina Bay in Singapore on Saturday after race leader George Russell was eliminated by a crash in wet conditions. Verstappen also secured pole for the main grand prix, rounding out a dominant day for the Red Bull driver.
A collision between Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll turned heads during the sprint. After his win, Verstappen told reporters F1 should scrap sprint events at circuits like Singapore, where overtaking is extremely difficult. The main race is scheduled for Sunday.
