Preston North End has parted ways with first-team boss Paul Heckingbottom. The club made the decision public on Sunday. Preston finds itself in the relegation zone of the Championship after losing six of its first seven games in the current league schedule. Heckingbottom was brought in at Preston last year. He had previously managed Sheffield United. The team will be led by a Premier League cult hero as caretaker boss. The decision arrives after a rough opening in this year's league campaign.
